The Crucified Light

from €25.00

About the artwork
The first work in The Passage of Light Trilogy, this composition originates in Miriam Sorrell’s own artwork and has been further developed through her creative process. Its layered imagery brings texture, shadow and light to the scene of the Crucifixion.

Miriam’s description
I wanted to portray the suffering of the Crucifixion without losing sight of the light within it. Christ’s lowered face and outstretched arms draw us into a moment of pain and surrender, while the blue light beneath him suggests that the story does not end here. This is the beginning of a passage from darkness towards hope.
