Artist Statement
I have never felt the need to tie myself to a single style of art. Life is not a photocopy of the day before — each moment is different: colours shift, weather changes, time flows, and we ourselves change in body, mind, and spirit. My art reflects this truth of constant change. I allow myself the freedom to move between styles, themes, and ideas, unconfined and unlimited in what I choose to paint.
I am drawn to both abstraction and impressionism, but rarely to pure realism. Nature, after all, is already perfect — why should I mirror what already exists? Instead, I paint the feel of a subject: its colours, its spirit, its essence, whether through abstract form or impressionist brushwork. I resist being pigeonholed, because that simply isn’t me.
My inspirations are as varied as my art: truth, the soul, nature, Ikigai, love, connection, laughter, compassion, music, poetry, and even the playful and cheeky moments of life. From stillness to passion, from quiet reflection to joy, all these energies find their way onto my canvas.
For me, painting is about translating life itself — with all its change, beauty, and imperfection — into colour and form.
