Trilogy II: The Silent Threshold

from €25.00

About the artwork
This work originates in Miriam Sorrell’s own artwork and has been further developed through her creative process, combining her original imagery with contemporary techniques to produce a new finished composition.

Miriam’s description
These three pieces show the Mona Lisa standing quietly within nature and amongst ruins, contemplating the spaces around her and, through her beautiful presence, almost becoming part of each scene.

There is a contrast between the stillness and beauty of her figure and the worn, ancient surroundings in which she appears. The ruins suggest history, memory and the passing of time, while nature continues to grow around and through them. Mona Lisa stands apart from it all, calm and untouched, yet somehow belonging completely within each setting.

Together, the three works explore that balance between beauty and decay, presence and absence, the man-made and the natural world. In each image, she does more than simply occupy the scene — she seems to decorate it, soften it and bring a quiet sense of mystery and contemplation to the landscape around her.
