Mona Lisa Love

from €25.00

About the artwork
This work originates in Miriam Sorrell’s own artwork and has been further developed through her creative process, combining her original imagery with contemporary techniques to produce a new finished composition.

Miriam’s description
This was one of my first interpretations of Mona Lisa, and in many ways it became a starting point for the way she would later evolve throughout my work.

Here she is placed within a bold, contemporary world of graffiti, colour and symbols — calm and composed at the centre of all that visual energy. The contrast between her stillness and the vibrant urban background gives the piece much of its strength.

The hibiscus appears prominently beside her, becoming more than a decorative element. It has since grown into a recurring emblem within my work — a symbol of beauty, vitality and identity, and a visual signature that connects many of my different collections.

For me, this piece represents the moment when Mona Lisa began to move fully into my own artistic world.
